ON THE ROAD/SHANNON HICKS
The Meadows has instituted what it is calling the Levi's First Stage this
summer, which is apparently similar to the "first" stages many festivals are
touring with these days. In this case, the stage will be set up for most of
the venue's shows this season.
This weekend's show, in fact, by THE J. GEILS BAND will be using the Levi's
First Stage. JOHNNY VIBRATO will be playing on the First Stage early Saturday
evening, welcoming ticket holders into the plaza area of the Meadows before
TOOTS AND THE MAYTALS plays its opening set on the main stage.
Sunday's show by THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND will also have entertainment on the
Levi's First Stage. Three bands will be there, although their identity has yet
to be determined. At least you know going in, there will be music before the
main show even starts.
The July 3 MOTLEY CRUE and THE SCORPIONS show will have EVE TO ADAM on the
First Stage. The July 7 All That Music & More Festival will have BILLY
CRAWFORD and JESSICA performing sets on the first stage. And the July 13
POISON, RATT and GREAT WHITE show will have LA GUNS on the Levi's Stage at 7
pm. Additional performers are expected to be announced for the remaining shows
this summer.
Until next week, I'll be seeing you... on the road.
