ON THE ROAD/SHANNON HICKS
TAPROOT, a Newtown band, will be performing at Laszlo's Arts Cafe in Monroe on
March 13. Don't know much about the band, but there is no cover to check out
any of the shows at the new coffeehouse/arts cafe, which is at 179 Main
Street/Route 25.
Another Newtown band, MIND TYDES, returns to Toad's Place in New Haven next
week. The band will be playing at 9 pm on Friday, March 12. Tickets are
available that will provide free admission for anyone 21 and over, or reduced
admission for those age 20 and under. For details, contact the band directly
at mindtyde@aol.com.
Friday's show is actually going to be headlined by SHAKEDOWN, and Psychedelic
Breakfast also has an opening set.
A change of plans, just slightly, for the MARILYN MANSON/HOLE concert at New
Haven Coliseum next month. IMPERIAL TEENS will now be opening the April 10
concert.
This is way cool: Just found out that following their March 14 performance in
New Haven for pre-St Patrick's Day, THE TIPPERARY KNIGHTS will be in Danbury
at Tuxedo Junction on St Patrick's Day on Wednesday, March 17.
Also new on Tuxedo's schedule are shows by THE COMMITMENTS, March 11
(featuring, according to promos, "original lead singer Andrew Strong"; as good
as shows by the so-called Commitments may be, remember, however, that nothing
is ever mentioned in advertisements concerning how many of the people who were
in the movie of the same name actually tour with the band, which is usually a
number small enough to be counted on one hand with a few fingers missing),
March 11; FUZZY BUNNY SLIPPERS, March 19; JEFFREY GAINES, March 25; another
return by THE NERDS, March 26; SCREAM, April 2; HARVEY & THE WALL BANGERS,
April 2; and TOY BOX, April 10.
Until next week, I'll be seeing you... on the road.

over unless specified.
