International Club Elects Officers

Members of the International Club of Newtown met last Saturday to hold their Annual Meeting and elect a new slate of officers for the coming year.

Hilde Brehm (Germany) was elected president. Ms Brehm is one of the founders of the International Club of Newtown, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2006. Wendy White (South Africa), formerly of the Ice Cream Shop on Church Hill Road, was elected vice president. Ursula Dolivo (Germany) was elected secretary, and André Simonpietrie (USA) treasurer.

Also newly elected were Sawsan Ali (Egypt), program chair, and Doraliza Isgut (Argentinia), membership chair.

Reelected to serve a second term were: Linda Belte (Latvia), hospitality, and Ellen Parrella (Austria), publicity.

The International Club of Newtown provides a setting for social activities and cultural exchanges of an international nature for its members. Eligible for membership are adults who were born in foreign country and their spouses.
