To the Editor:

First and foremost, take the time or make the time, to get out and vote for Newtown’s selectmen on November 4.

Of course, that’s the easy part. The real issue is which candidates to vote for at this critical time in Newtown’s future. From my vantage point (33 years in Newtown and involved in a myriad of activities and programs) what Newtown needs is the continued, sustained, “quiet” leadership demonstrated by Herb Rosenthal, Joe Bojnowski, and Bill Brimmer. This Newtown team has achieved tremendous progress over the past few years and changing horses midstream with a novice is risky business. True, this team may not have been overly vocal in communicating Newtown’s future problems. Instead they focused their time and energy attending to the crucial matters at hand.

Herb Rosenthal and Joe Bojnowski have demonstrated the kind of fiscal and governmental leadership that Newtown needs at this critical time, and deserves your vote on Tuesday, November 4.
