George J. Feli

George J. Feli, 69, of Newtown, loving husband of Norann “Kookie” (Golder) Feli, died August 28, at Danbury Hospital. He was born February 27, 1943 in Danbury, son of Margaret (Piskura) and Peter J. Feli, Sr.

Mr Feli was raised on the family dairy farm in Newtown and graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School. He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves.

He retired from Steiner, Inc in Bethel where he was employed as a carpenter for 41 years, and he was proud to have built his own home.

Mr Feli enjoyed going to sprint dirt car auto racing with the WoO USAC, and the All Stars. He was also a car cruiser and loved his 1956 Ford Victoria. He enjoyed bowling, going to the casinos, and loved to travel with his wife.

In addition to his wife, he will be missed by his brother, Francis S. Feli, Sr, and his wife Cathy, of Newtown; his sister, Theresa Fuller, and her husband Raymond; his sister-in-law, Deborah Ann Feli; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins, extended family, and friends. He was “Grandpa” to Xavier, Logan, Aurora, and Remmy. His brother Peter, and a nephew, Raymond, predeceased Mr Feli.

A funeral service was scheduled for 7:30 pm, Friday, August 31, at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury. The family will receive friends between the hours of 5 pm and time of service on Friday, at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held in Resurrection Cemetery in Newtown at 10 am, Saturday, September 1.
