Slick Conditions

Police report that motorist Jack Belmuth, 51, of 14 Horseshoe Ridge Road was driving a 2007 Jeep Wrangler SUV southward on Poverty Hollow Road in slick conditions at about 5:55 am on January 17, when the vehicle slid off the pavement at the northbound road shoulder and then struck a fence at 45 Poverty Hollow Road.

Belmuth was not injured. Police said they verbally warned him for traveling too fast for conditions.

Slippery Pavement

Motorist Thomas Harrison, 17, of 7 Old Purdy Station Road was driving a 2009 Honda CRV SUV northward near 12 Hattertown Road about 7:46 am on January 17, when the vehicle slid on the snowy/slushy road and then went across the southbound lane, struck some curbing and then traveled down an embankment, coming to rest against a tree, police said.

Harrison was not injured. Police said they issued him a written warning for traveling too fast for conditions.

Snowy

During snowy conditions about 9:14 am on January 17, motorist Chloe Mora, 18, of 21 Cottonwood Trail was driving a 1999 Volvo S-70 sedan southward on Bancroft Road when the vehicle went off the northbound road shoulder and struck some metal guardrailing, police said.

Mora was not injured. Police said they gave Mora an infraction for making a restricted turn.

Slick Street

Police report that motorist Austin Cirella, 19, of 23 Saw Mill Ridge Road was driving a 2000 Toyota Camry sedan southward near 2-A Saw Mill Road about 1:49 am on January 17, when the vehicle went out of control on the snowy/icy road, slid off the pavement and landed in a ditch.

There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Cirella for making a restricted turn.

Dodge Vs Buick

Police said that motorist Tyler Hoffman, 17, of 181 Berkshire Road was driving a 1999 Dodge 2500 pickup truck on Elm Drive, as motorist Maria Imbimbo, 79, of Shelton was driving a 1991 Buick LeSabre sedan southward on South Main Street at about 5:17 pm on January 17.

The Dodge then attempted to enter South Main Street, but collided with the Buick, police said. Imbimbo reported neck pain, but declined medical treatment, police said.

Police said they issued Hoffman an infraction for failure to grant the right of way.
