SCAN Spring Show Open To Non-Members
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN), Inc. will sponsor its 36th Annual Juried Spring Art Show at Cyrenius H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street, from April 30 until May 7.
The show is open to all artists who wish to exhibit in oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, graphics, printmaking, mixed media and sculpture.
Receiving for the artwork will be on Thursday, April 27, from 3 to 7 pm. Artists are asked to bring their work through the libraryâs entrance at the rear of the building (enter from the parking lot). It is not necessary to be a member of SCAN to enter the exhibition.
The show will open on Sunday, April 30, with a reception and awards ceremony from 2 to 4 pm. There is a Best in Show Award of $300 and additional cash prizes totaling of over $1,200. The Jury of Awards includes the professional artists Pat Billeci of Dutchess County; Roger Kastel of LaGrangeville, N.Y.,; and Ellie Bender of Meriden.
