Ardent Outdoorsman

James E. Lynch, 71, a lifelong resident of Sandy Hook, died December 13, at Abbott Terrace Health Care Center, Waterbury. He was the beloved husband of Nelize (Serrao) Lynch.

Mr Lynch was an avid hunter and fisherman and was frequently seen in the company of one of his many dogs. Through the years he was a landscaper, worked for Fabric Fire Hose Company in Sandy Hook, and retired from Branson Ultrasonics in Danbury.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jimmy Lynch, and his wife Kim, of Sandy Hook and Mike Lynch, and his wife Wendy, of Southbury; and a sister, Alice Madigan of Trumbull. There are many grandchildren and nieces and nephews who will mourn the loss of Mr Lynch. He was predeceased by his loving first wife, Hazel; and by a sister, Dorothy Stowe.

The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and employees at Abbott Terrace who cared for him in his last years.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 16, at 11 am, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Interment will follow in Saint Rose Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 am, Friday.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of one’s choice.
