Frances D. McRoberts

Frances D. McRoberts, 89, a resident of Ashlar of Newtown, died January 26 in Danbury Hospital. Mrs McRoberts was the wife of the late Joseph McRoberts.

She was born in Philadelphia, Penn., on October 23, 1914, a daughter of the late Harry and Rose (Bauer) Walters. Frances was a longtime resident of Long Island, New York, until moving to Connecticut. From 1996 to 2003, she was a resident of Crestview Ridge Housing Complex, Oxford.

Mrs McRoberts is survived by her three daughters, JoAnn Hornak and her husband Jack of Sandy Hook, and Peggy McRoberts and Elizabeth McRoberts, both of Gloversville, N.Y. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Allison and Jackie Hornak.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 31, at 11 am in St John’s Church, Washington Avenue, Sandy Hook. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford CT 06497, or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 186 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield CT 06492.

Arrangements were made by the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
