Remembrances Of The Danbury Fair
BETHEL â On Saturday, September 22, from noon to 8 pm, Bethel Historical Society will present a photo retrospective and exhibit of memorabilia from The Great Danbury Fair.
The exhibit will contain fair items such as the original ticket booth, carousel horse, fairground flags, a merry-go-round sign, a Dutch Boy sign, paintings of pixies, signs from boot hill, and many more items. All are from the private collections of Walter Dunlap, Billy Michael, and John Ivansco. The items on display were all purchased in 1982, when 12,000 fair items were auctioned.
The documentary film The Great Danbury Fair will be shown at 1:30 and 3:30.
A freewill donation will be requested. Popcorn will be served. The historical societyâs building is at 40 Main Street. For further information contact Patricia Rist at 743-5893.
