Trinity Rocks The Town Hall To Benefit Workcamp â04
The Alexandria Room at the Newtown Town Hall will be rocking Saturday night, February 7, from 7:30 to midnight. That is when Trinity Episcopal Church will be holding its an adult dance party benefit for Workcamp â04.
Every year, at Workcamp, youth age 13 and older and their adult supervisors from churches nationwide gather in different locations across the country to repair homes for people who are unable, either physically or financially, to do it themselves. Last year, the workcampers from Trinity traveled to Lockport, N.Y., near Niagara Falls and spent almost a week doing home repairs and improvements for those less fortunate.
This year, a group of about 34 Trinity youth and adults is planning to attend Workcamp in Canton, Ohio. The dance party is one of several fundraisers organized by Trinity youth and adults to help defray the cost of sending them to Workcamp.
Those interested in purchasing tickets for the party should call Leslie Konneker at 270-9116. Ticket donations are $25 per person or $40 per couple. Attire is jacket and tie. FOG, a local classic rock band, will provide live music and hot and cold appetizers will be served. Those unable to attend the dance but interested in making a donation to benefit Trinity Workcamp â04 can send checks marked âWorkcamp â04â made payable to Trinity Episcopal Church to the church, 36 Main Street, Newtown, CT 06470.
