Neurosurgeon Addresses Learning Disabilities

WESTPORT — Dr Fred J. Epstein, chairman of neurosurgery at New York’s Beth Israel Medical Center and funding director of the Institute for Neurology and Neurosurgery, will speak at the Westport Public Library on January 17 on his experience overcoming learning disabilities. Dr Epstein’s talk is the first of a four-part series continuing through April titled “Parenting for Success,” focusing on learning disabilities and attention deficit disorders.

Dr Epstein describes learning disabilities as the catalyst for his extraordinary success in the field of pediatric neurosurgery, including his development of life-saving surgical techniques for previously inoperable brain and spinal cord tumors in children.

Presented jointly by Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities and the Westport Public Library, Dr Epstein’s talk will take place on January 17 at 7:30 pm in the McManus Room at the Library. For more information, call 203/291-4810.
