Thomas M. Lane, 73, formerly of Troy, N.H., died March 27, at Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth Hitchcock in Keene, N.H., following a period of declining health. He was born in Bridgeport, October 5, 1938, the son of Vavica (Middlebrook) and Richard C. Lane. He grew up in Newtown and attended area schools. He was also a bugler for the Sandy Hook Fife & Drum Corps.

Mr Lane served in the US Marine Corps for more than ten years. He was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged in 1963. After his military service, he worked in construction, drove trucks, was a landlord, and worked in maintenance for a local storage facility. He enjoyed dealing in antiques and also enjoyed auctioneering. Annually, Mr Lane would play Santa Claus for family events and others.

Three children, Michele Hall, and her husband Don, Katrinia Lane, and Michael Lane, and his companion Ella Miller; two brothers, Stewart and Sully Lane; a sister, Ediess Mazarek; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews survive Mr Lane.

A graveside service took place April 4, at Mountain View Cemetery in Troy.
