‘Caring For My Baby’s Babies’

DANBURY — The Early Care and Education Training Institute will be offering “Caring for My Baby’s Babies” beginning on Friday, October 27, from 9 am to noon in Danbury. This free training is designed for grandparents and relative caregivers that care for nieces, nephews, and cousins. Persons who care for children in the children’s own homes also qualify to take this training.

The training is an opportunity to learn the knowledge and skills needed to provide a fun, stimulating, and safe environment for the children. The training will offer advice in preparing a child for kindergarten. It will also include providing a safe, healthy, and purposeful environment, learning about growth and development, the Husky Plan, a statewide medical insurance plan for those under 19, activities for young children, advancing children’s physical and intellectual development, and first aid training.

Childcare and activities for the child will be available during the training.

Persons who qualify for this training will also receive information on mini grants to help support your program and will get literacy materials including free books, games, etc.
