 Next SCAN Program
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown will host a demonstration in watercolor by Gayle Asher of Rowayton on Wednesday, September 13, at 7:30 pm.
The demonstration is open to the public and will be at Newtown Meeting House, at 31 Main Street in Newtown (at the flagpole). Admission is free.
Gayle Asher received his art training at the National Academy of Design in New York City and the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Fla. He was a graphic designer and art director at NYNEX (aka Bell Atlantic) for more than 30 years.
Since his retirement ten years ago, he has devoted his primary energies to fine art, particularly watercolor. He is an active member of Fairfield Watercolor Society, Connecticut Watercolor Society, Rowayton Art Center and Darien Art Center.
Mr Asher has won numerous recent awards in the area including the annual Connecticut Watercolor Society show, Rowayton Arts Center Walter Brooks Memorial Juried Show, Darien Art Show, and Spectrum Show in New Canaan.
His works are represented in the corporate collections of GTE, Pepisco and Bell South in Atlanta and are also in the homes of many private collectors.
