Dorothy V. Perkins

Dorothy V. Perkins, 72, wife of the late Calvin Perkins of Newtown, died April

12, in the Bethel Healthcare Center. She was the mother of Joseph Perkins of

Norwalk.

Mrs Perkins was born in Bangor, Maine on February 28, 1927, a daughter of the

late Joseph and Angie Pooler. She had been a resident of Newtown since 1965

and was employed as an assembler at the DuPont-Sorvall Company until her

retirement in 1982.

In addition to her son, Mrs Perkins is survived by another son, Richard

Perkins of Norwalk; one grandson, Adam Perkins of Norwalk; and several nieces

and nephews.

Funeral services were held April 15 from the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main

Street, Newtown, and in St Rose Church for a Mass of Christian Burial.

Interment was in St Rose Cemetery.

Mary B. Kus

Mary B. Kus, 78, of 9 Arrowhead Lane, Sandy Hook, and formerly of Simeon Road,

Bethel, died April 10 at her home.

She was the mother of Elizabeth M. Peters of Sandy Hook.

Mrs Kus was born in Bathgate, Scotland, July 14, 1920, a daughter of the late

Walter and Janet Syme. She was a longtime resident of Newtown, and for 30

years was employed as a psychiatric aide at Fairfield Hills Hospital until her

retirement in 1980. Following retirement, Mrs Kus lived at the Augustana Homes

in Bethel until moving back to Newtown six months ago.

In addition to her daughter, she is survived by three grandsons, John, Greg

and Jeff Peters, all of Sandy Hook.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 17, at 3 pm, at the Newtown

Christian Church. Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family.

There are no calling hours.

Contributions may be made to the Newtown Christian Church, 210 Sugar Street,

Newtown, CT 06470.

Arrangements are by the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.

Dorothy Hartell

Dorothy Hartell, 100, wife of the late Andrew R. Hartell, died at the Pope

John Paul II Center for Health Care on April 9.

She was the grandmother of Joyce O'Neill of Newtown.

She was born in Philadelphia, Penn., January 21, 1899, daughter of the late

Isaac and Catherine (Murphy) Hartell. A Danbury resident most of her life, she

was a retired employee of the Barden Corporation. She was a longtime member of

the United Methodist Church of Danbury, the American Legion and Veterans of

Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, the Gold Star Mothers and the Navy Mothers.

In addition to her granddaughter, Mrs Hartell is survived by two sons, Leonard

Hartell of Brookfield and Charles Hartell of Tyler, Tex.; nine other

grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church of Danbury on April

13. Burial was in Wooster Cemetery.

Michael Kelly Lyons

Michael Kelly Lyons, 55, of Nelson Lane, Newtown, died April 8 at his home.

He was born in Bridgeport on June 12, 1943, son of the late Francis Joseph and

Marion Patricia (Kelly) Lyons. He attended St Peter School and was a graduate

of Central High School, Norwalk, class of 1963.

Mr Lyons was employed in sales in the automotive industry and was a lifetime

area resident. He was a member of the Newtown Fish and Game Club.

He is survived by a son, Justin Lyons of Utah; two brothers, Lockwood Lyons of

North Kingston, R.I. and Sean Lyons of Massachusetts; two sisters, Patricia

Doolan of Danbury and Mary Donnelly of Bethel, Vt.; a best friend, Anne

Trister of Newtown; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family. A Memorial Mass

will be celebrated on Sunday, April 18, at 2 pm at St Rose Church, Newtown.

The Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, is in charge of arrangements.

Friends are asked to please omit flowers. Contributions in Mr Lyons' memory

may be made to Regional Hospice, 30 West Street, Danbury, Conn. 06810.

Dorothy E. Koehler

Dorothy E. Koehler, 77, wife of Charles P. Koehler of 81-C Heritage Village,

Southbury, died April 7 at her home. She was the mother of Patricia Ueckerman

of Newtown.

She was born in Bronx, N.Y. on August 27, 1921, daughter of the late Robert

and Roberta (Mann) Elliott.

A resident of Southbury for six months, she had formerly lived in Whiting,

N.J. She is survived, besides her husband, by another daughter, Laurie

Crawford of Stockton, Calif.; one brother, Robert W. Elliott, Jr, of

Croton-on-the-Hudson, N.Y.; one sister, Patricia Garbarini of Ossining, N.Y.;

two grandchildren, Samantha Ueckerman and Christopher Crawford; and several

nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on April 10 at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main

Street, Newtown. Cremation will be at the convenience of the family.

William Williams

William (Billy Mike) Williams, 88, a resident of Newtown, died April 8 in

Danbury Hospital.

Mr Williams was born in Scranton, Penn. and lived in Newtown for 25 years. He

was the father of Elwood Williams of Newtown.

He was employed as a tool and die maker with Dresser Industries, the former

Manning Maxwell and Moore, until his retirement in 1973. He was a former

member of the Bridgeport Barber Shop Quartet Society.

In addition to his son, survivors include another son, Adrian Williams of Palm

Bay, Fla.; one brother, Donald Williams of Macungie, Penn.; seven

grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held on April 12 in the Redgate, Wilmot West and Goulding

Funeral Home, 406 Main Street, Monroe. Interment was in Newtown Village

Cemetery, Newtown.
