NYS Hosts A âNight Of Tastes And Talentsâ
Newtown Youth Services, which serves as a resource for and support to youth and families, held âA Night of Tastes and Talentsâ Saturday.
The seventh annual dinner dance offered guests a silent auction of items and services contributed by the local business community, and showcased local talent through singing and musical performances.
Newtown High School Singers performed following Choral Director John Harned, along with entertainment from local private bands. A brief preview of the high school spring performance, How to Succeed in Business was performed by Nathaniel Basch-Gould, Samantha Mitchell, Melanie Beck, and Gregory T. Gordon.
The evening provided a full buffet dinner, entertainment, dancing, and the silent auction at the Fireside Inn. Youth Services provides a job bank for teens, support for children with special needs siblings, homework help, support for children of divorce, momâs groups, underage drinking prevention, summer camp, and more.
Further services include individual counseling and community service programs.
Director of Programs and Services Roseanne Loring said, âFunds raised at this event will allow Newtown Youth Services to maintain and enhance programs offered to the youth and families of Newtown.â
