Making Memories

To the Editor:

As residents of Newtown for over ten years, we just wanted to pass along a huge thank you to all the Main Street residents who participated in the Halloween event Friday night.

There is so much more than just trick-or-treating happening here. You are making memories for so many people. We look forward to strolling along Main Street every year, seeing the houses, decorations, flashing lights, pumpkins, coffins, hanging ghosts, and that large spider that makes us scream. We love running into friends and having our daughter run into her friends, whom she wouldn’t see in our own neighborhood.

Your efforts did not go unnoticed. We appreciate the well-lit safe walkways, steps, and driveways. We are proud of the way the town comes together to support this event. It was a huge success. It was a fun family night. It will be remembered for a very long time. We hope this tradition continues … And to the police officers who keep us safe while crossing Main Street, we thank you as well.
