PJ Library Hanukkah At Southbury
Public Library
SOUTHBURY â Southbury Public Library along with The Federation-Jewish Communities of Western Connecticut, Inc will host the second annual PJ Library Hanukkah celebration on Thursday, December 6, from 4 to 5:30 pm.
Hanukkah is the Festival of Lights which celebrates light over darkness and freedom over oppression. Come and hear the story of Hanukkah, play the dreidel game, and meet more of the PJ Library families.
The PJ Library Project is directed toward interfaith families providing them with the resources to bring Jewish values and culture into their home. Families with at least one Jewish parent and children from 6 months to 7 years who register with the project will receive a free book or CD that is age appropriate once a month for a year. After the first year there is a fee of $18.
The Hanukkah program is free and open to the community, but registration is required. Call either the Southbury Library (now located at 100 Poverty Road) at 262-0626 or The Federation-Jewish Communities of Western Connecticut, Inc at 267-3177, extension 106, and ask for Cynthia.
