Occupation: I am the marketing director at Dr Baum and Dr Gellert’s Orthodontist office on Church Hill Road.

Family: I have been married to Chris for 18 years. We have three sons, Ryan, who is 26, Tim is 24, and Sean is 23. We are lucky enough that everyone still lives in the area.

Pets: We have two Labs, a 3-year-old chocolate Lab named Chunky, and a 6-month-old yellow Lab named Vanilla Bean. Chunky’s breeder named all the puppies in the litter after Ben and Jerry ice creams, so he is really Chunky Monkey.

How long have you lived in Newtown? We’ve lived here 16 years. We moved from Trumbull. We took a drive up here and absolutely loved it. When I saw the flagpole in the center of the street, I thought, “Any town that can put a flagpole in the middle of the street has got to be okay!”

What do you like to do in your free time? I like to read and I like to make flower arrangements. I used to own Petal Pushers here in town. My husband and I like to travel, too.

Do you have a favorite author? I love Ken Follett, and anything he writes. I like espionage and murder mysteries. They’re all fun.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? I would say Maine. We enjoy it so much, we have bought property on the ocean in Cushing, Maine, and are building our retirement home there.

What is the best thing about Newtown? I would say the people. People say “hi” to you in Stop & Shop and the library. Everybody is warm and friendly in a way you don’t find in other places.

Do you have a person you admire? I most admire my husband. He left high school when he was 15 years old to raise his brother and sister. He took care of them and then made a very successful life in business and family for himself. It wasn’t an easy life, so I really admire him.

Do you have a personal philosophy? At the risk of sounding like a Hallmark card, I would say, “Make the most of every day.” I had a daughter, Kelly, who passed away the day she was born and ever since then, I’ve believed you have to live every day to the fullest. It changed how I lived my life. She was with us the shortest time, but she made the biggest impact.

What do you most cherish? I most cherish my family and my good friends. I’m lucky enough to have quite a few. And I just cherish my whole life.
