Jennifer Amy Honan and William Edward Smith were married on June 10 at St Andrewâs Church, Block Island, R.I., with Father Robert Randel officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Barry and Connie Honan of Madison.
The groom is the son of Jo Ann Smith Dempsky and the late William E. Smith.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
She wore her motherâs ivory wedding dress and carried a bouquet of ivory peonies and Queen Annâs lace.
The matron of honor was Kate Honan-Carter, sister of the bride, of Alexandria, Va.
The bridesmaids were Nancy Wallace of Annapolis, Md., and Sue Hanson of Trenton, R.I., sisters of the bride; Kelsey Wallace, niece of the bride; and Jennifer Connelly, sister of the groom, of Southbury.
The attendants wore ice blue A-line sleeveless gowns with matching cardigans and carried bouquets of peonies.
The best man was Matthew Girard of Westport, Mass.
The ushers were Mike Connelly, brother-in-law of the groom, of Southbury; Gregory Stock; Mike Kopac of Falls Church, Va.; Devin McAleese of Baldwin, N.Y.; and David Roman of San Francisco, Calif.
The bride graduated from Daniel Hand High School in Madison and Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. She is a teacher at Morgan High School in Clinton.
The groom graduated from Newtown High School and Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and Chapman School of Seamanship, Stuart, Fla. He is employed as a harbor master and boat captain.
The reception was held at Spring House, Block Island, R.I.
The couple honeymooned in St Lucia. They are currently on a five-month cruise aboard their boat, The True Companion, and will be returning to Connecticut in July, where they will reside.
