Newtown's Latest Student Musicians Of Note
Newtownâs Latest Student Musicians Of Note
Â
Forty-three students of Newtown High School and Newtown Middle School were accepted into state-wide and regional music festivals this year. The students were selected based on an audition they performed earlier in the school year.
All-State participants competed against more than 4,000 high school musicians from across the state in a two-tier audition process.
âStudents spent two long days rehearsing and working with some of our nationâs most prestigious conductors,â said Newtown High School director of music Michelle Hiscavich. âThe performances have been magnificent.
âIt is very exciting to have so many of our students representing Newtown,â Ms Hiscavich continued. âWe are very proud of their accomplishments.â
