Tree Theft
Police report that after learning that they held a warrant for his arrest, Rocco Bonanducci, 61, of 101 Great Ring Road turned himself over to them on December 19 and was charged with sixth degree larceny.
Police allege that Bonanducci took a tree from Lexington Gardens at 32 Church Hill Road without paying for it on October 24. Police released Bonanducci on a $100 bond for a January 8 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Cellular Phone Missing
Police received a report of a lost cellular telephone on December 15. The silver-colored, flip-style phone was lost by its owner near the Super Stop & Shop supermarket in Sand Hill Plaza at 228 South Main Street. Anyone with information on the phone is asked to contact police at 426-5841.
Hattertown Road
Motorist Vladimir Zingman, 49, of Trumbull was driving a 1994 Range Rover near 12 Hattertown Road at about 6:50 am on December 22, when the vehicle encountered snowy/icy conditions, police said.
The northbound Range Rover went out of control and struck a tree, police said. Dodgingtown firefighters went to the accident. The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Zingman to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries, police said.
Police issued Zingman a written warning for failure to drive to the right.
Box Truck
Motorist Edward McGrath, 45, of 20 Edgewood Drive was driving a box truck near the intersection of Schoolhouse Hill Road and The Boulevard at about 4:30 pm December 22, when the truck was involved in an accident with an unknown driver in blue Honda, who then fled the scene, police said. The Honda sideswiped the truck, police said.
McGrath was not injured, police said. Police ask anyone with information on the accident to contact them.
