Adeline Hoinacky

Longtime Ashlar Volunteer

Adeline “Mame” Hoinacky, 92, died September 6 at her home in Monroe with her daughter by her side. She was born October 4, 1915, in Southington to Gustave Domenic Westelinck and Zulma Bally Westelinck. She was a volunteer for many years at Ashlar of Newtown.

Mrs Hoinacky graduated from Lewis High School in 1935. She was a resident of Trumbull for 46 years before moving to Monroe for the last eight years. She was a member of the St Teresa’s Confraternity of the Rosary and she worked in the Trumbull School System Food Services for 27 years before retiring in 1994.

She is survived by her daughter Peggy Loulis and husband, Fred, of Monroe; her four grandchildren, Michelle Waterbury and husband, Darrin, of Stratford, Mark Turko and wife, Julie, of Milford, Denise Macura and husband, Dennis, of Trumbull, and Brian Loulis of Monroe. She adored her three great-grandchildren, Kyle Souza, Brian P. Loulis, and Mitchell Macura.

She is also survived by nieces Kathy Westelinck Silver of Michigan and Karol Westelinck Dyson of Maryland. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched, especially her best friend since kindergarten, Alice Boyce from Southington.

She was predeceased by her husband Andrew Hoinacky; her daughter, Nancy Turko; and her brother, Edward Westelinck.

Services were held September 8 at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, Monroe, with burial on September 9 at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport.
