Paula Heyum Frenkel, 83, of Stratford, died July 17. Mrs Frenkel was born in Dromersheim, Germany, a daughter of Otto and Jenni (Hirschberger) Heyum, and was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Fred Frenkel.
A beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, she is survived by her daughter, Susan Frenkel and her partner, Ralph Haberstroh, of Sandy Hook; son, Peter Frenkel and his wife, Jo-Anne, of Shelton; her grandchildren, Miya Woomer and Elana Levizon; and a sister, Ruth Greenwood. Mrs Frenkel was predeceased by a brother, Herman Heyum.
She was a member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom of Bridgeport, Pioneer Women, a longtime volunteer at the Jewish Home for the Elderly of Fairfield, and a life master in bridge for 30 years.
Services took place July 18 from The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, Fairfield. Interment followed at the Workmenâs Circle Cemetery on Reid Street in Fairfield. Shiva was observed at the home of Susan Frenkel in Sandy Hook.
