Celebrating Veterans’ Day

(The Bee has received the following letter for publication.)

To the Staff, Students, and Volunteers of Middle Gate School:

It was a great pleasure for me to be invited to attend your celebration of Veterans’ Day on Wednesday, November 10, and I am certain the other veterans feel the same as I do. the students’ display on the Wall of Honor is a fantastic idea. I cannot imagine a better way to ensure that students of all ages realize that the freedom we enjoy, and in many cases take for granted, has been won and maintained at a very high cost of lives.

It was surprising to see displayed on the Wall of Honor one such case that went all the way back to when General George Washington was in charge of winning the Revolutionary War, the first war to establish freedom for our country.

Keep up the good work of education, and thank you all again for one of my most memorable of Veterans’ Days. I hope you will repeat the celebration in future years in the same fashion and that other schools may follow suit.

Sincerely,

H. Robert Klein
