Richard N. Hipp

Richard N. Hipp, 63, of Yarmouth Port, Mass., formerly of Newtown, died on October 6. He was the husband of Clare A. (Armitage) Hipp.

Mr Hipp was born in New York City and grew up in Teaneck, N.J. He was a graduate of Upsala College in East Orange, N.J. Mr Hipp worked for Texaco and then the A.C. Delco division of General Motors for 30 years before retiring. Upon his retirement in 1999, Mr and Mrs Hipp moved to Yarmouth Port from Newtown where they had lived for 30 years.

After moving to Cape Cod, Mr Hipp worked for Napa Auto Parts in Hyannis, Fugate’s Auto Electric in Orleans and Hy-Line Cruises. He was an avid collector of cars and co-founder and charter member of the Housatonic Valley Regional AACA in Connecticut. Her was also a member of the Town of Yarmouth Recycling Committee.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Robert Hipp of Southbury and Todd Hipp of Eagan, Minn.; a daughter, Susan Hipp Pfeifle of Shrewsbury, Mass.; and two granddaughters, Sarah and Rebecca Pfeifle.

A graveside service was held in Woodside Cemetery, Summer Street, Yarmouth Port, Mass., on October 9.
