The sequence for the new film based on Rebecca Miller’s book of the same name will be shot at Christ the King and will work into the film as part of a flashback of the title character in which she recalls a certain conversation held with her mother in the church while her father, the pastor, was in the pulpit. As part of the learning experience, Mr Guinee has sat in on a Sunday Bible Class and even greeted parishioners at the door as they left the sanctuary after Sunday service on April 13.

“It is a pleasure to offer the hospitality of the congregation,” commented Pastor Gregory Wismar, “and it is really interesting to see the world of a motion picture actor from an inside perspective.” The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, which is being filmed at a number of locations in the greater Danbury area, is due to be released in the spring of 2009.

In The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, after her much older husband forces a move to a suburban retirement community, Pippa Lee (being played by Robin Wright Penn) engages in a period of reflection and finds herself heading toward a quiet nervous breakdown as her husband falls for a younger woman. Rebecca Miller is directing the drama based on her novel (and the adaptation of the novel set to be released in August) with a cast that also includes Alan Arkin, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Julianne Moore, Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder.
