Applications Available For The 6th Annual Youth Leadership Forum For Students With Disabilities
HARTFORD â Applications are now available for the 6th annual Connecticut Youth Leadership Forum (YLM), scheduled to be held at the UConn Storrs campus July 25â29.
The Youth Leadership Forum is a unique training program for high school sophomores and juniors who have disabilities. The forum helps develop leadership potential and skills through an intense, four-day curriculum. Participants are chosen on the basis of their contribution to their schools and communities, as well as demonstrated leadership potential and their representation of Connecticut in terms of geography, gender, ethnicity, and disability type.
Since 1999, Connecticutâs YLF has seen many of its graduates succeed in their postsecondary pursuits, including going to college. Approximately 40 students are accepted annually.
