SENIOR BOYS

Newtown Gold 12, New Canaan Black 5 – Mike Zaccaro scored six goals to lead Newtown to the win. Will Northrop had two goals and an assist, Lewis Thompson had a goal and two assists and Tom Murphy had three assists. Connor Byrne and CJ Ryan each had a goal and an assist while Scott Wexler scored a goal and Ryan Korth and Dan Sclafani had assists.

Newtown Gold 6, Amity A 2 – Brandon Body made 11 saves and Max Nacewicz shut down Amity’s lone offensive threat on attack as Newtown dominated. Connor Byrne, Will Northrop, Mike Zaccaro, Ryan Korth, and Lewis Thompson all scored as CJ Ryan and Tom Murphy supported the offense.

Newtown Gold 6, Stratford A 2 – CJ Ryan scored a goal and had two assists in the win. Will Northrop, Connor Byrne, Kyle Vignone, Ryan Korth and Colby Summerlin all scored as Danny Sclafani had an assist and made four interceptions of Stratford passes. Brandon Body  made 12 saves. Max Nacewicz was superb on D.

John Jay White 6, Newtown Blue 5 – Dave Kreshpan raced the length of the field with the ball in his long defensive pole and scored with :15 seconds remaining to send the game into overtime, but John Jay scored the decider. Josh Gilbert had a goal and an assist as Brandon Cusmano, Clark Giles and Nate Coleman all scored and Nick Pedalino notched an assist.

Trumbull Senior C 9, Newtown Navy 6 – Sam Molly made 15 saves to lead Newtown in the loss. Pat Durkin played well on D as he had 15 takeaways. Brian Vandeerwerdt and Daniel Tomascak (6 ground balls) played well.

Newtown Blue 9, Bethel B 2 – Nick Pedalino had two goals and two assists and James Radcliffe had two goals and 10 ground balls to lead Newtown. Michael Cascone, Liam Ferguson, Kyle Gallatin, Brandon Cusmano and Andrew Sebben all had goals as Clark Giles and Jordan Simonds notched assists.

SENIOR GIRLS

Newtown Gold 9, New Milford 6 – Nicole Gindraux, Kelly O’Connor, and Jocelyn Toll sparkled on defense to lead Newtown to the win. Jill Jagoe was solid in the goal, making seven saves. Kaitlyn Vos Winkel and Meghan Carney scooped five ground balls each. Meredith Bridges, Liz Emerson, Kaitlin Brophy and Molly Mahony anchored the attack.

Newtown White 6, Redding/Easton 6 – Kelsey Karp and Katherine Scott played well in goal and earned the draw for Newtown. Alex Klein, Megan Knox, Emily Molloy and Andrea Sayegh all scored goals as Brenna Calderara and Elie Mouchantat sparkled on D.

JUNIOR BOYS

Newtown Gold 9, New Canaan Black 0 – Cody Ryan, Pat Capozziello, Dan Hebert, Connor Quinn, Stefan Dullinger and James Marusi all scored while Evan Issacs was solid in the goal for the shutout. Graham Derrickson and Phillip Reynolds played well.

Newtown Blue 4, Bethel B 0 – Andrew Derrickson scored four goals, notched an assist and scooped up 12 ground balls to lead Newtown. John Meyers had a goal and two assists, Matt Ownes had two goals and an assist, Owen Bowler and Chase Hutchison each had two goals. Tommy Gleason and Andrew Volkers each scored a goal and Max Lopez had a goal and 10 ground balls.

Newtown Blue 5, Ridgefield Orange 2 – Chase Hutchison scored two goals and assisted on another as Newtown went to 3-0 on the season. Tommy Gleason, John Meyers and Owen Bowler also scored goals while Mike Gallatin had nine ground balls and Casey Fuller made seven saves in goal.

JUNIOR GIRLS

Newtown Blue 8, New Milford 8 – Brittany Emslie made four saves in goal while Kristie Vos Winkel and Meaghan Harkins burned up the scores to lead Newtown. Jaclyn Dailey and Paige Murphy played well on D as Sidney Hansen and Erin Kenning combined for seven ground balls.

Newtown Blue 5, Southbury 5 – Shannon Devaney popped in a goal off an assist by Tressa Scott while Maggie Kost and Maddie Fletcher each had an assist to lead Newtown. Lauren Harrison and Jillian Lyon anchored the D as Brittany Boggs made 11 saves in the net.

 

New Milford Jamboree –

Newtown Blue 6, New Fairfield 4 – Brittany Boggs made 9 saves in goal. Meaghan Harkins, Tressa Scott, Erin Kenning and Jaclyn Dailey all scored. Jillian Lyon scooped 3 ground balls.

Newtown Blue 7, Bethel 2 – Melissa Christiano had two assists on goals scored by Sidney Hansen, Lauren Harrison and Kristie Vos Winkel to lead Newtown.

Newtown Blue 6, Brookfield 3 – Amanda Crowell had three ground balls as Emily Maher, Maggie Kost, Paige Murphy and Kelsey Packer all scored to lead Newtown. Brittany Emslie and Nina Pedalino had assists.

Newtown Blue 9, Ridgefield 3 – Maddie Fletcher and Julie LaPerch powered the offense with assists by Meaghan Harkins and Erin Kenning.

Newtown Gold – Newtown defeated Southbury (7-3) and New Milford (5-2) but fell to Ridgefield Orange (5-2) and Ridgefield Black (3-0) at the New Milford Jamboree. Caroline Kingsley, Julia Trudell, Meaghan Brophy, Jane Sclafani, Alexa Powell, Carley Ferris, Anna Northrop, and Olivia Phenix were the goal scorers while Bryanna LeBlanc, Katie McManus, Julia DiLuoffo, Allison Samson and Mary Beth Semosky, in goal, had exceptional tournaments.

BANTAM BOYS

Bantam Gold 6, Bethel 0 – Christian Hoffman, Deegan Beauchemin and Logan Walsh scored goals and Jack Condon scored a left-handed goal to lead Newtown to the win. Alex Klang and Kaj Djonne ran wild collecting ground balls. Jake Lambert, Matthew Bouton and CJ Dunn tended goal for the shutout.
