Vintage Team Holds Yankee Ticket Drawings In Memory Of Kim Harmon

The Newtown Sandy Hooks Vintage Base Ball Club scored 11 more runs this past weekend in a 13-11 loss to the Simsbury Taverneers to bring the Hits for Harmon tally to 137 thus far in the season.

Hits for Harmon is a fund-raising program run in behalf of the Harmon Family Fund and American Heart Association in memory of former Bee Sports Editor Kim Harmon who passed away this past December after suffering a heart attack.

The Sandy Hooks will hold two drawings to give away Yankees tickets and other prizes to supporters who donate to this worthwhile cause.

The first drawing will held on August 17 at McLaughlin Vineyards. The winner will take home four box seats to a Yankees-Boston Red Sox game on August 28 at Yankee Stadium. A second drawing will be held after the Labor Day Parade and Yankees seats (to a September 12 game versus Tampa Bay) will be given away.

Details regarding the fund raising program and prizes are available at www.vbbnewtown.com/hfh.htm or by emailing john@thebee.com. Forms may be picked-up at The Bee, Newtown Savings Bank, Newtown Parks & Recreation and Church Hill Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation.

Fans are encouraged to attend the Sandy Hooks game against the Waterbury Connors on Sunday, August 17 to support a great cause and have a chance to win tickets to a game during the final season at Yankee Stadium.
