The Basics of QuickBooks For Your Office — A three-class course starting on April 20 for a fee of $89. The course will cover the key features of QuickBooks, a popular business finance software. Topics will include income and expense tracking, checkbook management, credit card usage, liability accounts, customer lists, vendor lists, invoicing, and business reports.

Investing 101 — A one-class course on April 22, $29. The class will explore basic tools, characteristics of different investment products, how to create an investment plan, the importance of risk management acceding to a personal risk tolerance, as well as asset allocation and portfolio rebalancing. The course will also look at common behaviors and biases that can get in the way of managing priorities and setting and achieving realistic goals.

DIY Spring Essentials, Using Essential Oils — A one-class course on April 28, $39. Natural henna artist for over 15 years and licensed cosmetologist Parul Patel will teach all there is to know about natural henna tattoos. The class will start with a brief background about henna, also known as Mehndi — all natural temporary henna tattoo. There will be step-by-step instructions on making henna paste and cones as well as hands-on demonstrations on how to apply henna using reusable templates to learn simple traditional designs. The instructor will give each student a small henna tattoo along with care instructions on how to maintain henna longer. A materials fee of $10 is payable to the instructor at the first class.

Natural Solutions To Weight Management — A one-class course on April 29, $29. For those who have given up on losing weight, this course will offer different approaches. Dr Elena Sokolova will discuss the effects of sleep, exercise, hydration, daily stress, and toxins on weight loss resistance. Students will learn about their unique body’s metabolism that requires individualized types of foods to stay lean. Learn how naturopathic weight management approach can help to loose and to stabilize weight. Students are asked to have questions ready for this popular class.

Social Security And You — A one-time class on May 6, $29. Whether retired or close to retirement, students will learn techniques to dramatically increase your net retirement income. Students will learn advanced strategies on how to get the most from Social Security and Medicare benefits, as well as ten key facts about Social Security benefits.

Creative Card Making — A four-class course starting on May 5, $74. Students will learn how to get creative with lots of rubber stamps, embellishments, and techniques that are creative as well as fun. Over the four weeks of the class, students will make a variety of all occasion greeting cards and matching gift bags. Students will make cards with embossing, layering, glitter, cutouts and shaped cards. With a variety of techniques and tools the possibilities are endless. All card stock and embellishments will be provided. The last class will be an open fun night where students can use the instructor’s die cuts, embossing machine, and a variety of rubber stamp sets to make all occasion cards that they can design on their own. The teacher will supply paper the first night but students can bring extra to make additional cards. Students are asked to bring double-face tape, scissors, white glue, and a glue stick. A materials fee of $35 is payable to the instructor at the first class.

Layered Pastels — A four-class course starting on May 7, $89. The course is for students with all levels of experience, from beginners on. The course will start with basic shapes that evolve with each layer to create a finished work. Each layer will be sprayed with a fixative in a well-ventilated area. This “create as you go” process is very rewarding. Students will be required to purchase supplies. A list will be provided.

Ballroom Dancing — A four-class course starting on May 7, $99 a couple. Students will learn the fox trot, waltz, cha-cha and more. Joe Williams and Noni Low have been dancing together for more than 20 years and teaching ballroom dance for beginners to advanced students for 15 years. Their basic concept of ballroom dancing consists of having fun with easy to learn instructions. Couples and singles are welcome.

College Application Essays: How To Write Them — A one-class course on May 20, $29. Students will learn how to write dynamite college admission essays. This one-night class offers the powerful, attention-getting techniques for writing narratives that leap off the page. Examples and appropriate handouts guide students to write effective compositions. Copies of the book Show! Don’t Tell! How to Personalize College Applications with 75 actual student writing samples will be available for perusal and purchase. Students and parents are encouraged to attend together. Private editing sessions may be arranged for a fee when students complete their essays.

OneNote — A one-class course on May 18, $29. Many carry a notebook or notepad around to take notes for business, school, or personal projects, but finding those notes is not always easy. Students will learn to take control with Microsoft Office OneNote 2007, the easy-to-use note-taking and information-management program that can capture ideas and information in electronic form. Insert files or website content in full-color, searchable format or as icons that can be clicked to access. The course will offer a demo to see how simple it is to gather, format, organize, and share information.

Natural Solutions For Women’s Health — A one-class course on May 28, $29. Starting with a brief review of female physiology and hormones, students will learn how hormones are affected by modern life style stress, sleep deprivation, toxic chemicals, and wrong foods. Students will also learn about the symptoms and effects of female hormone imbalances. Natural ways to manage stress will also be discussed. Students will learn about valuable new natural therapies as well as “time tested” winners in restoring women’s health.
