Bats To Your Yard

DERBY — Kellogg Environmental Center and Naugatuck Valley Audubon Society have invited urban wildlife biologist Peter Picone to present “Creating a Backyard Wildlife Sanctuary” at the society’s March 19 meeting. The program begins at 7 pm and will be at the Kellogg Environmental Center in Derby.

The public is invited, free of charge. Mr Picone, a biologist with the Department of Environmental Protection’s Wildlife Division, is stationed at Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Unit in Burlington. He has been with the agency for 11 years and has helped homeowners increase the wildlife value of their properties across the State both directly and indirectly.

He provides advice and recommendations on appropriate wildlife plantings, nest boxes, and other habitat elements to maximize the potential for your yard.
