St Rose Students Raise Money For A Mission And A Charity
St Rose of Lima School students launched donation campaigns during this Lenten season to help support charities both near and far.
Using daily announcements, students were encouraged to participate in weekly raffle prize drawings to collect funds for two causes.
Students in fifth through eighth grade raised close to $1,000 for Morning Glory, a breakfast program for the hungry and homeless in the greater Danbury area.
Students in kindergarten through fourth grade, led by the schoolâs second graders, launched a campaign to collect funds for a new mission in Ghana that will be staffed by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. In order to establish a school, provide housing for the Sisters, and minister to the poor, the Sisters need financial support from the community. The studentsâ efforts raised more than $1,300 for the new mission.
