ON THE ROAD/SHANNON HICKS

Saturday morning, tickets will be going on sale for the always-unpredictable,

never-apologetic (and we do love her that way!) Courtney Love and HOLE, who

will be performing at the O'Neill Center at WestConn in Danbury on Friday,

December 4. Costs are $25 for tickets in advance (seating is all general

admission), or $27.50 at the door.

Tickets can be purchased directly from the O'Neill Center's box office; call

837-8437 or visit the building, on the university's westisde campus, on

University Boulevard (the same area where the outdoor Ives Center is located).

They're also available through any TicketMaster outlet, whether in person or

by charge line.

Tickets for NATALIE MERCHANT at The Oakdale in Wallingford next month are also

going on sale Saturday morning. Fresh off this summer's Lilith Fair touring

festival, Merchant will return to Connecticut on Thursday, December 10. Those

tickets are going to be obtainable only through the theatre's box office. Call

203/265-1501.

Now here's something I hadn't planned on seeing in my lifetime: MEN AT WORK

are on a comeback tour. The Aussies will be at Toad's Place next week, on Nov

16. Original members Colin Haye and Greg Ham are still with the group, which

is touring to support the recently-released Brazil . Opening will be Sweeter

Than Wine and Prezens.

Looks like most of the band members in SPRING HEELED JACK will be able to

enjoy Thanksgiving at home this year. The band has a post-Thanksgiving show

scheduled for November 27 at The Webster Theatre in Hartford. With some of the

band members coming from Newtown, Monroe and Trumbull homes, it's a good bet

most, if not all, of the band will be enjoying a home-cooked meal at some

point on Thursday before heading up to Hartford on Friday. Opening the

November 27 show will be Bim Skala Bim and The Infamous Gnomosexuals.

A New Year's Eve concert/party will be held at the CT Expo Center, the

building which was the former's BJ's Warehouse, next to the Meadows in

Hartford. MAX CREEK will be performing. The band moved its December 31 show

from The Webster Theatre because a large crowd is expected. Sassagrass will be

opening the New Year's Eve festivities.

Until next week, I'll be seeing you... on the road.
