Occupation: I'm a medical counseling physician. I was a senior attending physician at Norwalk Hospital for ten years. I have opened a new practice in town called Expert Medical Counseling, and I will be making house calls.

How Long In Newtown: We moved to Newtown two years ago from Westport. We wanted to get away from the New York City type atmosphere and have a more rural place to raise our children.
Family: My husbandâs name is Sandy. Heâs an investment banker with Carter Morse in Southport. He has a love of sailing and science. We have two children, 7-year-old Scotty and 3-year-old Stephanie. Our closest family is in New Mexico but we have great friends who are like family in the area.
Pets: Our beta fish Changey. He is bright purple and beautiful. My son earned him by writing a persuasive letter as part of a school assignment. The assignment was to write to your parents and persuade them about something. He wrote a letter to persuade us to allow him to have the fish. We got it for him because he did such a nice job in the essay.
Hobbies: I love to sing. I sang in school up through college. I use to sing in coffee houses. Most recently I sang with a gospel choir in Norwalk, that was a lot of fun. I like to write poetry. One day I would like to write a novel.
Favorite Music: All types of music from zydeco to country.
Favorite Books: I love to read. Some of my favorites are; Crossing To Safety by Wallace Stegner, My Name Is Asher Lev by Chaim Potok, and The Empire Falls by Richard Russo.
Favorite TV Show or Movie: The West Wing and Will & Grace, very different ends of the spectrum. My kids and I look forward to watching American Idol together every week. I recently saw the movie Million Dollar Baby; I liked it because of itâs theme of appreciating what you have. I also loved The Lion King. I was entranced by the animals in the opening scene.
Favorite Vacation Spot: France! I guess what I like is the pace of life there. The way of life in rural France. The food, people, and culture. The French side of St Martin also holds significance for my husband and me.
Organizations: I have paired down. I belong to the Fairfield County Womenâs Medical Association and the Barnard Alumni Association. I belong to a book group in Newtown.
Most Vivid Memory About Newtown: My most vivid memory was two Christmases ago. There was a huge snowstorm on the night of the tree lighting. We were waiting for friends to come up for the lighting from out of town and because our friends got stuck we missed the lighting; but we drove around Newtown and saw the lights. The beautiful tufts of snow; there was a beautiful silence about it.
Personal Philosophy: To enjoy each day for what it is and to appreciate my family and friends each day. Not to let moments go by unnoticed.
