Sandy Hook Center Streetscape Planning Session Slated
The town will hold an initial public meeting to start the planning process for its Sandy Hook Center Streetscape Pilot Project. The session is slated for 2 pm, Thursday, February 26, at the town land use office at Canaan House at Fairfield Hills.
The scope of the streetscape project will be discussed at the session, providing interested persons an opportunity to pose questions. The streetscape project is intended to beautify the compact business district to stimulate its economic development. Members of the projectâs steering committee will attend the session.Â
Costs for the pilot project are being covered by a state grant from the Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP). Initial improvement work will focus on Church Hill Road. Future work will cover Washington Avenue, Riverside Road, and Glen Road.
