Patricia M. Lounsbury

Former Fairfield Hills Hospital Nurse

Patricia M. (Mach) Lounsbury, 71, died July 8 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, Mass., following a sudden illness. She was born in Bridgeport, the daughter of Michael and Alice (Yagielski) Mach, and was raised and educated there. She was the wife of the late Thomas A. Lounsbury who died in 1990.

She is survived by two sons, Daniel and his wife, Maria, of Newtown, and Thomas and his wife, Lisa, of Black Mountain, N.C.; also two daughters, Candace Koziar and her husband, Lewis, of Newtown, and Cheryl Gormbard and her husband, William, of Cheshire; she also leaves two sisters, Alice Smith of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Barbara Palushock of Huntington; three grandchildren, Jennifer Frisch, Megan Wilson, and Daniel Lounsbury; and three great-grandchildren, Ryan Frisch, Abigail Frisch, and Ian Wilson; also several nieces and nephews.

Mrs Lounsbury graduated from the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing with an RN degree. She married and settled in Danbury for several years before moving to Brookfield. She began working for the former Fairfield Hill State Hospital in Newtown and retired after more than 30 years of service in 1985. After retiring she settled in Eastham, Mass., on Cape Cod, where she had vacationed for many years with family. She enjoyed reading, quilting, bird watching, and “The Beach.”

All services are private. Coutinho-Boisse Funeral Home, Harwich, Mass., is directing arrangements.
