Making The Right Decision

To the Editor:

The Budget Forum and subsequent conversations and correspondence with interested citizens have the intention of providing more information, answering open questions, and, yes, trying to convince voters to pass this budget at the May 15 referendum. I share openly my belief that it is important to maintain a good quality of municipal services and educational programs if Newtown is to thrive, not just survive, but actually be able to grow and prosper.

We are struggling now to maintain services and programs at an acceptable level and I fear moving backwards.  After all is said and done, however, it is the voters who determine the fate of the budget and of our community.  That is as it should be and despite my worries and misgivings I rest on my belief that the community will ultimately make the right decision.
