DANBURY â Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, Inc., is holding open enrollment for winter registration in its Children and Families Bereavement Center support groups.
A children and teen support group is for children age four through 18 who are dealing with the death of a parent or sibling. The group meets twice monthly. There is a concurrent parentsâ group available.
The grandchildren bereavement support group is a six-session series on âExpressing and Coping with Griefâ for children age six to 11 who have experienced the death of a grandparent. The group starts on January 22.
A support group for children whose parent has cancer is a six-session series designed to help children ages six to 12. The sessions begin January 22.
A bereavement support group for parents who have had an adult child die will start at a date yet to be determined. The sessions are designed to help individuals better understand and cope with the thoughts and feelings that accompany a significant loss.
The teen group is for teenagers whose parent has a life-threatening illness. It will begin this month.
All sessions are free of charge, although donations are appreciated. Pre-registration is required. All sessions are held at Regional Hospice, 30 West Street. For more information or to register call 797-1685, ext 33.
