Leave The Quagmire Behind
Leave The Quagmire
Behind
To the Editor:
Newtown just experienced a wonderful season of joy and goodwill. Letâs carry those feelings forward through 2008.
Everyone wants what is best for our town, but different people have different priorities. Thatâs what makes the world go round â but it should not make the world stop. Letâs move forward out of the quagmire we have been plodding through. I urge our town leaders from all three parties to sit down and negotiate resolutions for the benefit of the town.
We have several new elected officials and we will all benefit if they and the incumbents work cooperatively for a successful year. Together, we can build a better Newtown. Divided, we will continue in the same old quagmire.
Is this a naive message? Only if you want it to be.
Through teamwork, we can make 2008 the year of progress and success stories for our town. Letâs just do it!
