*Youâve Read the Book, Now Letâs Talk About It! Discussions continue to take place at the library during April on the book that everyone in Newtown is reading, April Morning. Bring a friend or neighbor and join some other Newtowners in some good conversation. Whether you loved the book or not we want to hear what you think. Discussion leaders have done their homework and are ready with some great background material and good discussion questions that have no right answer.
The current times for discussions are: Monday, April 21, at noon, with Cecilia Dalzell and Cheryl Wicks at the library; Monday, April 21, at 7:30 pm, with Gordon Williams at the congregational church house; Wednesday, April 23, at 7:30 pm, with Elizabeth Adam and Janice Fields at the library; Thursday, April 24, at 7:30 pm, with Gordon Williams at his home; and on Monday, April 28, at 1 pm at the Senior Center.
Please call 426-4533 to sign up for a group. Large groups welcome. Trained volunteers would be happy to lead discussions for existing book groups, bowling leagues, you name it.
*The British Are Coming (back) to Newtown: Step back in time and celebrate Tavern Night at the library on Friday, April 25, from 7 to10 pm, with British and Colonial re-enactors. Two floors of the library will be full of a variety of exciting activities including singing, dancing and games for the family (activities are best for children over age 8).
Get into the spirit of the evening and come dressed in costume. If youâre able to bake a dessert for the evening or have questions call the library.
