Lions Donate To Kevin’s Clinic

The Newtown Lions Club has joined the growing list of organizations that are making donations to help Kevin’s Community Center provide medical services to uninsured and low-income residents of Newtown.

Patient care takes place on a walk-in basis at the clinic at Fairfield Hills on Wednesday from 1 to 5 pm. In addition to free primary care services, the clinic offers patients free laboratory and radiology services through Danbury Hospital and Housatonic Valley Radiology Associates. Ninety percent of the prescription medicines are provided free of charge through stock samples, and the rest of the medications are offered at cost through The Drug Center of Newtown.

The clinic’s referral network is now made up of 55 specialists in the greater Danbury area, which provides clinic patients with free referrals and consultations.

The clinic serves patients ages 16 and older. Those who have any form of health insurance such as Medicaid, Medicare, or private insurance are not eligible for this free clinic. If there are unusual circumstances, however, eligibility will be determined on a case-by-case basis. For more information, call the clinic at 426-0496.
