With the guidance of Varsity captains Victoria Braga and Melissa Charles, along with instructor Bob Findley, the Newtown Juniors scored 49.10 points, just .2 points lower than second-place finisher Beecher. Junior Guard members are: Sixth-graders Erin Kelly, Lauren Granville, and Annika Alexander; and fifth-graders Jo Risko, Michael Glover, Isabelle Fitzgerald, Kiernan Kelly, and Lauren Montague.

The Newtown Junior Varsity Division performed “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” to rave reviews and crowd enthusiasm, earning second place with 66.10 points, just 1.6 points away from winner Montville High School. Under the tutelage of Findley, Janos Pergely and Varsity Captains Sarah Smith and Nicole Braga, the 16 member Scholastic AA Guard is comprised of sophomores Kristin Campbell,  Melissa Christiano, Haley Malin, and Tiffany Pileggi; freshman April Corbo; eighth-graders Nina Bonvini, Sarah Braga, Makenzie Casey, Courtney Datin, Kayleigh Granville, Caitlin Jones, Alyson Montague, Kelsea Morshuk, Bridget O’Donnell, and Brittany Violet; and seventh-grader Rebecca Romano.

The Newtown High School Varsity Winter Guard continued its winning ways with its show “True Colors,” defeating six other high schools from Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. The seven-time MAC champion Newtown Varsity guard received the highest score of the evening of any class with a 71.40, and beat Norwalk High School by .30.

The Guard is instructed by Findley and Pergely, as well as John Lemire, Michele Liscio and Victoria Whittington. Members are: Seniors Victoria Braga, Melissa Charles, Nicole Scalora, Sarah Smith, Olivia DeWald, Marissa Metcalf, and Alyssa Wade; juniors Sara Hetzer, Grace McKinley, Jess Sideleau, and Rebecca Tobin; sophomores Brianna Bauch, Cherokee Belval, Caitlin Fitz Gerald, Brandon Ghent, Victoria Hanulik, Grace Hubbard, and Meaghan Kelly; freshman Paige Thanasoulis; and seventh-grader Camryn Gaudett.
