Nancy S. Bruen

Nancy Ellen Steck Peck Bruen, 75, of Bethel died on March 7 at Bethel Health Care.

She is survived by a son, James A. Peck, Sr, and his wife, Lori, of Newtown; three daughters, Susan P. Ruscoe and her husband, David, of Newtown, Nancy E. Williams and her husband, Lawrence, of Southbury, and Elizabeth Chandler and her husband, Mitchell, of Murietta, Calif.; two sisters, Joan S. Hancock of Newington and Priscilla S. Wakuluk of Bethel; and eight grandchildren, James A. Peck, Jr, Joshua and Bert Peck, Peter and Lauren Williams, Alena and Andrei Ruscoe, and Jennifer Chandler.

Mrs Bruen was born in Bethel on September 9, 1930, a daughter of Howard A. and Grace L. Daley Steck. She was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of Bethel High School. She worked as a secretary most of her life, retiring from Union Carbide in Danbury.

The funeral service will be at St Thomas Episcopal Church in Bethel on Saturday, March 11, at 10 am. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel.

The family will receive friends at Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, on Friday, March 10, from 7 to 9 pm.
