Walden Chamber Players To Conclude DCA Season

DANBURY — Walden Chamber Players will perform Saturday, May 19, at 8 pm, at Ives Concert Hall, on the midtown campus of Western Connecticut State University (WCSU). The performance will close Danbury Concert Association’s (DCA) 2006-07 season.

Walden Chamber Players consists of seven artists, many of them Boston Symphony Orchestra members, playing flute, oboe, two violins, cello, bass, and piano. The performance will include works by Haydn, Schubert, Brahms and Stephen Paulus.

People who purchase subscriptions to DCA’s 2007-08 series by May 19 will receive free admission to the Walden Chamber Players concert. The new series, which will begin in the fall, will feature performances by pianist Christopher Taylor, French Chamber Orchestra with viola soloist Jitka Hosprová, The Czech Nonet, and America’s Dream Chamber Artists.

DCA is a non-profit organization that has brought live music to the area for more than 60 years. Admission to the annual series is by subscription, at $36 per adult for all four concerts. WCSU students and people 18 years old and under are admitted free.

Ives Concert Hall is at 181 White Street. For additional information, call 748-0522 or visit Danbury.org/concert.
