Remaking A Green
Remaking A Green
The seventh green at the Newtown Country Club began getting an extensive face-lift this week. The sod was ripped up and some grading work was all set to follow on Wednesday. According to NCC superintendent Joe Kocet, the green â which has always been a challenge â will get a bit more level and a lot larger than it was before. âBut weâll put some twists and curves in it to make it challenging,â Mr Kocet said. The green will be out of commission until October, when it will be ready for a fall tournament. After that, it will be shut down until the spring.                                   - Bee Photo,_Harmon
