Backed By A Brother

To the Editor:

I am proud to call Chris Lyddy my brother. With all that I have seen him accomplish in his lifetime, I have never seen him so determined and focused as he has been during this campaign. The energy and excitement generated by Chris all simply shows that he wants to be here, has a passion to be here, and wants to help the people who live in Newtown live successful and happy lives.

Chris is on a mission. He is on a mission for this town that will bring a fresh voice to the town’s forefront. Chris won’t just be a seat in Hartford, but instead a voice in a seat that will fight for change here in our town.

As a state representative, Chris won’t take shortcuts. He will make sure that he understands what the people want. As many of you already know, he has put in countless hours everyday to make sure he hears what the people have to say. This is what he enjoys. He enjoys interacting with people, getting to know new people, and listening to the people of our town tell their stories. As a state representative, Chris’s job will be to communicate the issues here in town to the capitol in Hartford. That’s why it is important for the people to be vocal and share their concerns with the next representative from Newtown.

Chris has the energy and the passion to take this town to the next level. He will propose ideas that address the needs of our community in Hartford. Chris has experience with the issues that face this town because of his involvement with so many boards and committees. He is on the Legislative Council, the Board of Directors for the Parent Connection, Prevention Council, Juvenile Review Board, the Board of Directors for the Housatonic Valley Coalition Against Substance Abuse, and has recently joined the newly formed Emerging Leaders Program of United Way.

There are so many aspects of our town that make it very special. Having a young role model and leader such as Chris is one of those aspects. It is an exciting time for all of us in the Lyddy family, and I hope our excitement spreads throughout this entire town so that everyone can soak in the energy, spirit, and leadership that my brother exhibits.

I hope you will join me on November 4 in voting in my brother, Chris Lyddy, as State Representative for the 106th District.
