Michael S. Ruddy

Michael S. Ruddy, 42, a resident of Redding for most of his life, died December 5 at Danbury Hospital following a brief illness. He is survived by his children to whom he was a devoted father,  Michael, Alyssa, and Kyle Ruddy, all of Newtown.

Mr Ruddy was born in Stamford on February 18, 1961, a son of Mafalda DiGiovanbattista Ruddy of Redding and the late Edward J. Ruddy, Jr.  Mr Ruddy was a graduate of Joel Barlow High School in Redding and Abbott Tech in Danbury. He had his own plumbing business in Redding, known as EJM Plumbing and Heating.

In addition to his children and mother, Mr Ruddy is survived by two sisters and a brother, Lisa Davenport of Bethel, Donna Hutvagner of Beacon Falls, and Joseph E. Ruddy of Tequesta, Fla.; and three nephews and five nieces.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated December 9 in St Mary’s Church, Bethel. The interment followed in the family plot at Umpawaug Cemetery, Redding.
