Twenty-Fifth Annual Pediatrics Update Conference Slated

DANBURY — Danbury Hospital’s Department of Pediatrics hosts the 25th Annual Pediatrics Update Conference Thursday, November 4, from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, in the John C. Creasy Center for Health Education, 24 Hospital Avenue.

The Pediatrics Update Conference at Danbury Hospital is offered as a continuing medical education program in its service to the community, and is geared toward health care professionals caring for infants, children, and adolescents. Conference participants will be updated with current medical information regarding the following topics that will be introduced by the chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at Danbury Hospital, Raul A. Arguello, MD:

*“Update on Respiratory Viruses,” Leonard Krilov, MD, FAAP, chief, Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Winthrop University Hospital

*“Substance Abuse: What Kids are Using and Abusing,” Elizabeth M. Alderman, MD, professor of clinical pediatrics, Division of Adolescent Medicine, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Children’s Hospital at Montefiore

*“Appropriateness in Pediatric Medical Imaging”, R. Timothy Brown, MD, medical director, Department of Radiology, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, section director, Pediatric Radiology, Hartford Hospital

*“High Blood Pressure in the Office: How Much of a Workup?,” Frederick J. Kaskel, MD, PhD, professor of pediatrics, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, director, Pediatric Nephrology, Children’s Hospital at Montefiore

*“Bugs, Moles, and Boo-Boos,” Barry Goldberg, MD, attending physician, Danbury Hospital Department of Medicine and Pediatrics, assistant clinical professor of dermatology, Yale University School of Medicine

*“A Recitation on Rumination — the Evaluation of the Child with Emesis,” Donna K. Zeiter, MD, attending physician, Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center

Kevin Ferguson, MD, FAAP, attending pediatrician at Danbury Hospital, and Debbie Henriques, RNC, nurse manager, Siefert and Ford Community Health Center, will serve as moderators at the 25th Annual Danbury Hospital Pediatrics Update Conference.

Registration fee for the program is $105 for physicians, $55 for nurses, residents, students, and other health care professionals, and includes breakfast, lunch, refreshments, and course materials. The conference provides CME and CEU continuing education credits.

Space is limited and advance registration is required; registrations will not being accepted on conference day. Attendees may park free in the Red Parking Lot, Locust Avenue entrance.
